I wont go into all the details of my skilled Ind Visa sub class 136 because you really wouldnt believe me if I told you, but here's the main bit. I applied in December 2002 after being told I was suitable for migration by the ACS.What happened over the next 21 months was quite unbelievable and it would take me too long to tell you the ups and downd of my application but there were times when I nearly gave up on my visa. However, this morning after exactly 21 months my visa arrived and I have just sent my passport off to London.
I plan to arrive in Perth in about a month (Ive had long enough to plan it!!) to meet up with my best pal who arrived last Friday. So, after 4 Holidays to Australia, viewing every house Reiwa have ever advertised, checking every car for sale on autotrader, learning where to take my Driving Licence theory test, studying exchange rates, checking out mortgage deals, and deciding I am never ever, EVER going to work in IT again I am leaving the UK.
Will I miss anything? of course I will...mainly my friends and family..but most of them are trying to emmigrate anyway so we will eventually all be together again.
So is this the record for the longest visa approval in the skilled Independent class ever?..21 months!!!.
Never give up a dream..as long as you believe in yourself and really will it to happen..it will..I just hope it doesnt take as F***ing long as mine!!
Be cool.

and we agree some days you wish you could give up because at least you know where your life is going!!I would say the same to anyone else reading this, please don't give up, the long wait is worth it, although I found most of the excitement gone by time we got it!!!

I worked briefly with someone who's 136 took just over three years! From what I understand, it is not all that unusual for some to wait as long as you, and I've yet to figure out why!
Anyhoo, very many congratulations for seeing it through, and some long overdue karma for being so monumentally patient!
A cause for celebration I think....
Tony.
