You know what it is, its all about looks, murdoch looks mean, dodgy, evil, so does lees, she looks creepy, odd eyes, odd behaviour and reactions to situations, so nobody likes either of them.

If she had been blonde and pretty, or he had been a nice looking aussie with a sports background, the media and public would have swayed in their favour. Like schapelle corby, if shed looked like Renae laurance would anyone have had any sympathy.

As for finding the body, theres a zillion miles of outback, how far would they have to look  you could bury anyone out there and 2 days later a sandstorm would have shifted the land to never find anything again. Or as the bloke says nice pack of hungry dingos. :D

Outback is just a very weird place, charcters like murdoch are 10 a penny :scared:

Wasn't she handcuffed when she was found? Disposing a body in the outback wouldn't be too hard. Bullet hole in the body, thrown in the back of a pick up, and dumped along a few hundred kms, wouldn't be hard to hide a body. Even if he hid it behind a bush on the roadside, most people driving past would think it was a dead animal. When I was in the outback, many a time, we smelt the smell of a rotting animal, or thats what we thought, who knows.

I saw a pic of her in todays paper, I wouldn't exactly say she was ugly, I thought she was quite pretty, well in the photo they showed, she did. I don't know how people expect her to act, she had a frigtening experience, her fiance was murdered and she has had years of media exposure, including people saying she was involved. How would anyone on here act, and also she can't exactly move on with her life can she, and try and forget. I agree with Jad, there are loads of Murdochs around, especially in the outback. I don't know what looks have to do with a crime, its about evidence. There are some very good looking killers also convicted, you don't have to be just ugly to commit murder, or even pretty to be a victim.

I've been a witness in a death, 6 months after, and even reading my statement just before I appeared, I was surprised in how much detail I had forgotten and I hadn't been through an experience where I thought I would die.

I heard today that police are now investigating Murdoch for a string of other similar murders, looks like they have got the right guy, especially with the stuff hutch mentioned.
They are even looking into the 3 unsolved female "Clarmont" murders which happened a few years ago.
Who knows what other stuff he got up to?

Lol, got to address the balance after all the "she looks a bit funny, she must have done it" postings ;)
To be honest, all this speculation doesn't make the least bit of difference, suppose we were the jury, we would have to spend hours considering and debating all the evidence... can anyone seriously make a fair judgement after a bit of media coverage and gut instincts? Good job we have the judicial process.

Yeah but when some people hear he's into drugs before the trial it gives them a prejudice against him before he's even in court.

Most sensible post on this thread!

How the hell you can judge a person on the way they look is ridiculous!

Re: Murdoch is innocent

Did Lees ever demonstrate in court the method she used to move her hands (bound behind her back) to her front?

Considering that she was blindfolded, at what point was she able to catch a glimpse of Murdoch's 4WD?

People have said that the natural movement of sand over the course of a few days could easily obscure tracks, etc. - but Lees' clear footprints were found at the scene, which proves that no such movement had occurred. The evidence had not been obscured or removed in any way.

So why was there no sign of Murdoch's footprints, or drag marks from Falconio's body, or any indication of a struggle, etc?

It's also very easy to say "Well, you could just drive a couple of hundred miles and dump the body somewhere", but is there any evidence that Murdoch did this?

Lees has already been caught lying under oath about her affair with another bloke; what else is she lying about?

I also find this...
  • Falconio was in Australia on a work visa [3] and had been incorrectly taxed by his Australian employers as if he was an Australian resident. As a result, were he to lodge a tax return, he would have owed money (approx $3,000 - $5,000).

On the day of his disappearance, he had made inquiries to England about how to avoid paying the money back, and also had asked about how to fake his own death. An anonymous informant had called police in April 2002 to provide them with evidence in relation to this. Police had dismissed the evidence as inconclusive.

...rather interesting. ( Source.)
