MR AVERAGE

hi everyone
just a quick answer to my outlook on life in oz(if we get our PR granted).
i am a painter by trade and am normally up at 04.45 on average in morning for work(travel to london and surounding area a lot). then return by about 6 at night.from what i have read on BE oz work is similar.i have no problems with working these hours in oz.we are not looking to make our working life easier (would be nice if it were) just to give our children a better enviroment, but once they have grown up and moved on then enjoy our own time and slow down a bit.is this realistic?hope so as we coming over hopefully anyway!
any feedback greatfully taken onboard
thanks us 5

How can a painter get PR? Seriously, anyone can paint! Is it that easy to get into OZ?

That's really quite rude isn't it?:frown:

I would imagine that he has to have the necessary qualifications and experience that everyone else has to have regardless of what their particular skill is. The in demand list is very varied but thankfully 'patronising techie bods' is not yet on it so good luck with your application!;)

Wow! You really do want to win friends & influence people don't you?
The guy just asked for some feedback about Aus lifestyle, I don't think it warrants being insulted by you!:frown:

You really are a piece of work! I have never chosen to ignore anyone on this site, but I may yet with you. I have not seen you add anything constructive, or for that matter anything intelligent!

Good Luck:)

You might find it odd but countries need people to fill shortages. That shortage could be in high skilled or low skilled jobs. It doesn't make them less important, it just means they can't find anyone to do them.

Heaven forbid people stop painting houses, dealing with our waste, cleaning our hospitals, etc. At least some of us recognize the importance of all walks of life and jobs without feeling the need to look down on others.

Re: MR AVERAGE

To try and answer the original question - it will depend! You obviously have a good work ethic and will likely make a great sucess of yourself over here if you continue with that. My mate is a painter/decorater and usually starts at 6.00am and finishes at 4pm - unless they have a rush on to get things finished (which at the moment is all the time as they have plenty of work) in which case it's an extra hour or two.

Best of luck.

Enough already, we've given you enough chances and your intent in posting is clearly to upset and wind people up and you are no longer welcome on BE

Yeah agree. Some of the total wanker/loser/tool IT 'experts' I've had to deal with need to be seen to be believed.

Good on you mods for deleting the thread he tried to put a couple minutes ago. I just happened to spot it before it was deleted.

I will admit to reporting this poster several times over the last half an hour. Hopefully the post by Sue means he's been banned. If not I'll continue to report him as long as continues to be such an ass.

My theory is that the people who do this are having a really hard time in their real lives. Don't necessarily think it's just men either.

I don't mind if they pick on me, (well, obviously, I DO), I would just ignore anyone who was rude or abusive to me.

I get annoyed when they are being rude and abusive to anyone who's hit a hard patch in the application for a visa, house selling., etc.

It's also annoying if they pick on new members. I remember how uncertain I was when I first joined the site, and coming across someone like that would have put me off posting.

Who knows? He or she may be back later in another guise. I'm wondering if you can just keep joining from the same email address and whether it's the username or the email address that's banned. Maybe a Mod can tell us that.

Anyhow, it was nice to see how quickly Sue acted when we all hit our report button.

Mxxx

Hello there,

I think that your expectations are pretty reasonable. Another way to look at it might be - if we remain in the UK, will we be able to slow down a bit once the kids have moved out? If the answer is "yes", then I think that you'll be able to do the same over here.

Bear in mind though, that the costs of moving a family are significant... So you should spend a fair bit of time planning everything as best you can.

cheers

Painters serve an apprenticeship in Aus and a good painter is worth gold. Just try and find one.

Sitting behind a desk fiddling on a computer on forums and other things is not very productive.

Tradespeople make the world go round and we can live without computers but boy its difficult with a blocked loo, no electricity and no transport.

So Mr Average you can have a nice life here. :D

Same over in the UK, a qualified painter and decorator is every bit as skilled
as other trades.
In fact a couple of self employed decorators I know back home make a fair bit more money than the joiners/ electricians etc. that I know
