Hi everyone,
I've done quite a bit of research into moving a dog and a cat with us on a move to Perth, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has actually made the trip with pets? Would t mind some ideas of costs from people that have done it rather than just Google and would t mind knowing how the pets coped with the flight and quarantine? If it's going to scar then for life might be better to find them a new home over here... 😞

Our little dog, a very nervous chihuahua, did it the other way. Perth to UK.
We we were very worried about it as he also has some health issues. But, he was fine. A bit jet lagged for a few days after and his body clock was clearly out, but that's all.
No no point is discussing cost as it will be very different going the other way as Australia has mandatory quarantine. I would strongly recommend Pet Air.

Yeah from what I've seen the costs are really high, for both of the pets it might cost the same as a 20ft container!
I'm more concerned about the dog getting the feeling of being abandoned, I'm not to worried about the cat as she's moved house with us a few times. Would be interesting to hear from a few other people that have gone through it.

Also acquaint yourself with cat ownership rules in the council you are headed to. Many now require cats to be contained on your property, if your cat is used to roaming free you really should not let it do so here even if there are no restrictions where you end up. Rentals can be an issue as they are very unlikely to have a secure outdoor cat run so you will need them to stay indoors.
Rentals are hard to find as it is in many areas and pets make it harder. Not saying don’t bring them but just to be aware of issues other than transportation.
