Moving to Australia in early 2013

Moving to Australia in early 2013
My husband, child, and I are planning on moving to the Townsville area in early 2013 from The United States. I've done alot of research on the town and honestly it looks like an amazing place to live. I've learned just about everything I can learn on Google, and would just would love to talk with some of the people who live in the town to get a better feel for the place! What's your opinions on Townsville, Australia?
