Hi All we got our PR VISA yesterday ( Wed 5th ) our agent reccomends HIFX and National Australia Bank anybody got any hints on how to move our money it is in a few different accounts in different banks we had a great day yesterday but now it,s back to reality Thanks in Advance PS can,t wait to get to Brisbane

Or try ozforex , all their processing is online, so if you can transfer your UK money online to their UK account, they will convert it , and transfer it to any Oz account.

Your choice of Oz bank may depend on where you are heading as there are lots of charges for other peoples cashpoints ( NAB just changed this ).

UK account can vary as some have limits for transfer, and won't do somethings without you being present.

We use an abbey national esaver account ( upto 6.25% ) into Ozforex ( its barclays ) , and then to Westpac in Oz.

Best thing to do is speak to your broker (HIFX or whoever) explain where the cash is now and they'll probably advise you how best to do it. I do mine standard 3 day bank transfer (BACS) via my online banking facility, although they have a £5K transaction limit so have to do it over number of days or from different accounts if the amount is large.

Ozforex (Tranzfers) are great and much cheaper than using most other banking services.

I transfer funds about once a month and they charge $15 flat fee, Commonwelath Bank charged $22 but then another 11 pounds of 'hidden' charges.
