dont think so mate - if I remember, Anzac Day is not a formal public holiday and you dont get a day off in lieu if it is on the weekend...
on that basis, I reckon schools would be open as normal.

I take it back - I'm completely wrong - it is a Public Holiday!!

So schools should be shut I reckon.

Anzac Day is 25th, so the Monday isn't normally a holiday.

I am glad this was mentioned, they forgot to add the 26th April, on to the holidays list that was sent out, as a day off.

The school is actually closed on that day.

That's the stupid NSW gov. Last year they said they had gazetted it by mistake and couldn't change it. Same again this year no doubt. Anzac Day was always celebrated on the day it landed - if it was a weekend, no day off.

Next year, 2011, will be even more confusing as Anzac Day and Easter Monday will fall on the same day. WA is having Tuesday 26th Feb 2011 as a special public holiday so that they'll still have their 10 public holidays. However, Qld isn't. Haven't looked up what the other states are doing. Will be interesting to find out?! Our elder daughter starts school next year so I'll soon need to pay attention to school holidays.

I think these holidays, esp Anzac Day vary state by state as PHs are state sanctioned.

For the above, in WA in 2011 Tue 26th April is also a holiday.
