Thumbs up Melbourne Accommodation hints?

Hello British Expats

I'm moving to Melbourne from Sydney in a few weeks. I'm kinda new to this area of Oz as I'm from the UK.

I need some quiet/safe/cheepish accommodation for about a month(may be more). Easy Internet access would be handy. Does not have to be in the CBD areas but does need some good links into central town as I won't have a car.

Can any one recommend motel/self catering hotels OR rooms that would be suitable?

Many thanks in advance.

cheers

Harvey

Hello Geelong

Central/South Melbourne are the most likely so far.
