Default Medicare rebates

Hi,

I have recently run into a bit of a problem with Medicare and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on where I stand on all this.

I recently married an Australian and my 2 years of temporary residency began on the 25th of June, a few days after we got married, the day the application was made. (It was backdated after immigration granted my applciation at the beginning of September.

I only had the visa evidenced in my passport in the 11th of September and as such Medicare won't give me rebates on hundreds of dollars worth of care (Hospital admission, anesthetics, eye tests and x-rays that were all dated between July and the beginning of September.

Does anyone know where I stand with regards to this, I really could use getting my money back for all of these expenses but I dread liasing with Immigration and Medicare over it all.

Thanks in advance

James
