Default Medicals in York

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post so bear with me please. can anyone tell me what happens when a couple are separated and the wife wants to emigrate to Aus, does the estranged hubbie have to have a full medical too?
Also, we live in Gateshead, there are medical panels in Newcastle, is there any reason why we would have to go to York, is it the only place that the medicals can be done'Online'?
Thanks in anticipation,
Carole

I'm hazarding a guess it all depends on who is the main visa applicant? if it is the wife then I would think the husband would have to have a medical but if the husband is the main applicant then can the wife still go ahead and apply if the husband isn't going? I'm sorry but i think you may need specialist advice for this one.

Hi there and welcome.
You have to attend a medical centre registered/recognized by the Australian Panel so you can not do your medicals on line. I am not sure why you would have to travel to York if you live in Gateshead, I am sure that there would be a registered panel nearer to you. (We received a list with all of the registered ones on and chose the one closest to our area). It is all of those who are emigrating that will need to have a medical.
Good luck.
