Does anyone know if we could get a bed mattress for a UK king size bed in Australia? Their sizes are different to UK- they have single beds and queen beds. Can anyone help

Found this place 'click for mattresses' they are in Melbourne and they list KING and QUEEN in both single and double??? You could email them and ask what size the king double is.

I had this problem when we arrived last year.

A UK King size bed is called a Queen Bed over here. The mattresses are slightly different sizes - the width of a Queen bed is the same, however it is about 3-5 inches longer than the UK King. I managed to find a mattress shop that cut down a standard queen mattress, from memory I think it only cost me an additional $20-$30 - obviously depends on the mattress, quality, etc.

Hope this helps. (NB the Aus King bed is equivalent to UK super King - 6ft wide)

We brought our king size UK bed (5 foot wide) and it fits an Australian Queen size mattress and sheets.
From what I worked out you can get single, king single (about 4 foot I think?), double, queen and king sizes here - singles and doubles are same as UK.
