Default Marrying an Aussie - Do I need a special marriage license?

Hi all

In March next year I'll be ,arrying my wonderful Aussie chick. I am currently a Permanent Resident and will be close to citizenship by then, but if I am not a citizen - are there any issues with me getting married? Do I need a special license or something?

Thanks !
Dave

Given you already have residency it would surpriuse me greatly if you had to do anything other than the normal process.

All couples wishing to marry (no matter what their status is) need to lodge a notice of intention to marry (NOIM) with their local bureau of births, deaths and marriages. Your celebrant or church may also be able to arrange the NOIM. The NOIM must be completed at least a month and a day before marriage.

Been there, done that.

No problems or issues, as bondipom says, get in touch with a celebrant well in advance of the day so (s)he can take care of the minimal paperwork.

Note, that marrying an Aussie will have no affect on citizenship, it'll neither help nor hinder it.

Yes ... you need to be certified.
