Markets are nosediving!
Financial markets are nosediving all over the world. How's the situation in Australia, likely impact on job market? Anyone having a second thought or postponing their travel plan?

The market here is mostly down like everywhere else but up and down inbetween. Unemployment rose last month and I would expect it to rise for a few more months yet given the state of retail, manufacturing and building.

1) Probably not be living here
2) Be certifiably insane
I've just watched two fire tenders sort out a bushfire at end of our road in a very competent and timely fashion, quite frankly what the financial markets do mean relatively sod all to me on a daily basis.

Good time to whack some more into your super fund.
I hope that my fund managers are out buying big time.

unemployment is definitely on the up, there are plenty of people about but not many shopping bags. People are buying online and the money is going out of the local economy, the retail & sector is in trouble and its the largest employer.
I expect a repeat of Dec 2008 in the not too distant future, immigration will probably be cut again and occupations list chopped down and probably some occupations ceased and capped.
