What you wearing this time of year in perth?
Hi everyone,
Strange question, but trying to travel fairly light on our recce in 2 weeks and just wondered how hot/cold it is feeling? Am I likely to need a mixture of warm and cool clothing? Or will I get away with just sticking in couple of cardigans to go over shorts/jeans and t shirts? I appreciate you guys may be more acclimatised to weather, but just an idea would be great.
Cheers

Light trousers, t-shirt during the day, fleece jacket early morning and evening, sometimes wear fleece during the day. If you're going to be hanging around waiting for buses or trains, or out at night, you might need a jacket thicker than a fleece. It can be warm during the day (up to low 20s), but can get very chilly (by Perth standards) if a southerly comes in.

The fingerless gloves come in handy (no pun) on my milk-round.

Today I'm wearing a long sleeved sweater & pants. When I left for work at 6:20 this morning I put on a wool jacket. By the time I leave for home at 4 it should be warmer so will probably walk to the train minus the jacket. Definitely something warm when I walk the dogs tonight and flannel jammies for overnight. It went down to 7 at our place last night and that's still too cold for me.
Of course its never happened to me.

Thanks for that advice everyone, mostly very helpful! Lol! I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing the milk men in perth, that would be worth getting up early for! Looks like I'm going to be in for a bit of a culture shock! Lol

It reached about 21 degrees today, forecast 23 degrees tomorrow. There are very cold mornings when it's that warm during the day (no cloud cover to keep the heat in). You can check on the BOM website for the forecasts http://www.bom.gov.au/wa/forecasts/perth.shtml - remarkably accurate here, for up to 1 week ahead, something that's very different from the UK! You might get to wear your shorts, and bring your swimming gear for a refreshing dip.

We had our reccie to Perth in August a few years ago and it was lovely during the day but did get cold in the evenings, managed with a couple of pairs of jeans each and summer trousers, t shirts and fleeces, it was warmer there in the winter than the summer in the UK we had left behind! We did wear shorts and t shirts quite a lot too and spent some lovely days sunbathing on the beach - though it was funny as everyone else had their winter stuff on! Hope that helps a bit.

There has been rain lately, but still need the air-con on in the car when driving about, at night it's 50/50 on whether to put the heating on, a few days have been windy, so you would want more than a T-Shirt on. Still to cold to get in an out door swiming pool.

Myself and the kids are mainly in jeans and tops with jumpers, O/H goes around in shorts all the time and a Tshirt, he thinks he looks cool, he got caught in the heavy showers the other day, came back like a drowned rat
