Don't be put off by the fact that you're buying a PC from a budget supermarket - the Medion range of laptops are very well thought of and made in Germany. It has all the bells and whistles, including 3Gb of RAM, a good sized 320Gb hard drive, nice quick Core 2 Duo CPU, off-board Nvidia 9300 gfx card, HDMI output and even a fingerprint scanner for security.

I would be hesitant, as friends of ours bought a dvd recorder there that has had nothing but problems, after months of hassel they finally got a new one out of Aldi for it to mess up in the same way, and now Aldi aren't answering or returning their phone calls

Yea, but we're not talking about DVD recorders, we're talking about a laptop that's made in Germany and sold through Aldi under their Medion brand. The laptops and desktop PCs are excellent - can't say I'd touch much else there.

Took it back after a few weeks and got a full refund
