Lightbulb In the market for a new laptop?

At the risk of sounding like a public service information film ... there's a cracking laptop going on sale at Aldis this Thursday for $999. Don't be put off by the fact that you're buying a PC from a budget supermarket - the Medion range of laptops are very well thought of and made in Germany. It has all the bells and whistles, including 3Gb of RAM, a good sized 320Gb hard drive, nice quick Core 2 Duo CPU, off-board Nvidia 9300 gfx card, HDMI output and even a fingerprint scanner for security.

http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/58_5793.htm

Sure as shit a lot better than anything you'll find in Hardly Normals, the Bad Guys, Prick Smiths or Freedomtooverchargeyou for the same money.

LOL Hutch, I thought you were going to say you had one which has just fallen off the back of a lorry! Aldi often seem to have good deals going these days.

That's a pain - I've just bought a new Lenovo, but this looks like a much better deal...

I may buy one anyway...

If you'd just like to step around to the rear of my car sir, I have something that may be of interest to you in the boot...

I would be hesitant, as friends of ours bought a dvd recorder there that has had nothing but problems, after months of hassel they finally got a new one out of Aldi for it to mess up in the same way, and now Aldi aren't answering or returning their phone calls

Yea, but we're not talking about DVD recorders, we're talking about a laptop that's made in Germany and sold through Aldi under their Medion brand. The laptops and desktop PCs are excellent - can't say I'd touch much else there.

Yes I got one such DVD recorder.
Took it back after a few weeks and got a full refund
