As a balance to that story it's probably the same scenario for people living anywhere near Sydney!!

Shows the newt king up as a total hypocrite, at the moment those on these low incomes are working an hour (soon to be an hour and a half) a day to pay the congestion charge just to get to work. If he was really concerned he would introduce a tiered charge giving those on lower incomes a reduction and nailing company directors and 4x4s for whom £5 or even £8 is loose change. After all those on low incomes are more likely to work in jobs such as cleaning etc where they are required to work odd hours and for whom public transport just isnt a viable option.
Saw an article online yesterday that some think tank are recommending congestion charging being applied to the whole area inside the M25, looks like Bliar's dream of satellite based road charging UK wide isn't that far away.
