Re: London Skilled and Parents Visas to Move to Australia
With respect Ian, you haven't been pushed further down the queue as a result of London cases moving to Adelaide - it's more that Adelaide applicants had jumped in front of those who had applied to London, and now it looks like some equity is being restored.
Otherwise your points are reasonable, but the rules are (or should be) known when you start the process - ultimately its up to you to decide whether to play ...
Best regards.

Already we've suffered the loss of ICT skills from the MODL (reduction in points), the rising of the pass mark to 115, the scrapping of the ICT fast track and now being pushed further down the queue.
All of these things may be justified but to have so many changes over such a short time-span is very confusing and worrying and you'd think that they'd try to get periods of stability in between the constant tinkering with the system. I think any system which advertises certain tems and conditions should deliver on those based on when you applied and not have your application buffeted by the winds of change constantly raging through the OZ immigarion process.

I was about to send off updated Police checks within the next 2 weeks. Should I hold fire or send them in the hope they get attached to the right file?
What about medicals, these will be a year old soon. Will Adelaide honour the extension to be valid for 2 years which was what we were advised by London AHC.
Your thoughts would be useful

We applied September 2001
I'll reserve judgement for a little while.

We too applied in Oct 2001! what a wait eh, it does make thing better now that i have found this site.
There are hundreds of us out there and for the past 12 months i have been waiting furiously for the visa to drop on the mat. If only i would have found this site earlier!!!
I have been in contact with the skilled team 2 at oz house as after 3 letters to them they still have not got our correct address ( we moved shortly after applying)
But i was informed by the chap that no worries as they had not even looked at our aplication yet!
He quoted a 20 MONTH wait (from submitting the application)
great so we have to stay here for anoher 6+ cold horrible months!
Has anyone else had there visa through? when was your application submitted? someone please give me a bit of good news!!!
keep in touch and let us know the outcomes of your wait
Ta for noe
Simone
PS sorry for the spelling mistakes!!!

Hi Simone
Wlecome to our site. I'm afraid i am still one of the many waiting (applied May2001) and am hoping to hear soon. There are lots of us that are getting through at long last so keep your eyes peeled for the 'we're off!!!' type emails that keep us all going.
Good look.

Re: London Skilled and Parents Visas to Move to Australia
Hi all........
Alan is spot on when he said that people who applied to Adelaide
after November 2001 had,
"jumped in front of those who had applied to London, and
now it looks like some equity is being restored".
When DIMIA announced that all skilled applications would be processed
in Adelaide from November 2001, there was a lot of discussion on this NG
on whether to apply to London, (in my case July 2001) or wait until
November. The general consensus at the time was to go ahead with
applications to London. The reason being that the sooner you get your
application in, the better.
Hindsight, as they say, is a wonderful thing, and those of us who applied
to London at the same time as me, have a right to feel frustrated
at the fact that a lot of people who applied months after us, now have their
PR visas and we haven't.
This move by DIMIA will hopefully redress the balance. The people who
applied to Adelaide may have to wait a bit in the long run if the London
applications go to the front of the queue, but I'm sure they will understand
the reasons why. We are, after all , in the same boat as regards Oz
emigration. At least this will ensure that the people who applied first,
get their visas first.
Good luck to all in their applications...........
Cheers......... Johnno.............

Re: London Skilled and Parents Visas to Move to Australia
All applicants to Skilled Independant AHC London will get a letter within 2 weeks advising them or their visa progress and whether it will be transferred to be processed in Adelaide.
For now send stuff to Londoin and it will get attached to the file.
We applied Sept 4th 2001 and will almost certainly be transferred to adelaide.
Still reserving judgement as to whether this will speed the process up.

London Case Load
If your enquiry relates to the cases currently with London office, please be aware we have not received any applications in Adelaide at present. More information will be given at the end of October and you will be notified by mail if your application is due to come to Adelaide.
"
So, just relax till then. There isn't much else to do.
