Life insurance
Is it best to keep up uk life insurance or take out one in australia? Is it legal to have uk one whilst on 457? I.e out of the country.

I was wondering that. I have a really good deal with mine - can't get one here now as cheap as I have it, let alone starting again in Oz, now that we're a bit older than we were!
Can I just keep paying it does anyone know? I'm guessing probably not. Then if we went back to UK would have to pay a fortune.

Checked with mine on Friday and no problem continuing to pay from a UK bank account. If they need to (hopefully not) they'll just pay out iaw your will.

Yes, had same conversation friday as they consider Australia a company to pay out on, oh now for the will...

Our life insurance is with the Legal & General, I informed them we were moving to Australia and asked if we could keep the policy with them. It wasn't a problem and they confirmed the same in writing.
