Wouldn't be hard, in all honesty, it doesn't take a whole lot to get some of you guys going. I feel some of you take it seriously as well.

Like Ceri said, some of the posts make you wonder if we in Australia are living on a different planet! 4 years on I still like it here, but the newness has well and truly worn off and there are many warts here too.

I get the impression Kong is going a bit OTT to try and balance out the :rolleyes: posts if it was a bit more balanced he probably wouldn't need to.

There's no balance in kong's posts. They're all bullshit generalities, and that's what gets up my nose. He didn't like it where he was so all of Australia is shit, all of Australia's people are shit, jobs, housing, customs, culture, it's all shit. See what I'm saying? Rather than just admit to the fact that he and where he was in Australia didn't connect, he has to disparage, condemn and rubbish anything and everything associated with Australia, everywhere and everything. It's like me moving to Albania, not liking it, and saying all of Eastern Europe is shit just because I didn't like one corner of it.

Neither place is shi* both have very good and very bad points. I just wish the 2 places were a bit closer together so I could combine the good bits of both. :)

I think that most people going to or in OZ, which is the majority here, will ignore any posts about UK, as they are only concerned with Australia.

I agree that both countries have good and bad, and yes it would be great to combine the good from both of them :)

I see...so.. theres the "moving back to UK" forum...for those who want to go back for whatever reason...i dont see much "balance" in there.. thats fine as its their views and they are entitled to them and the restof us dont have ot go there if we dont want to read it.

theres the "take it outside" forum to let rip, fight and argue to your hearts content all day and all night if thats what floats your boat :rolleyes: ...once again..if you are a bit more grown up and dont feel the need for it you dont need to go there.

theres also the "lounge" for discussing whatever about whatever...BUT..those who just wanna have honest, factually correct, good humoured and helpful discussions about life in Aus...STILL have to put up with idiots making sweeping generalisations, false claims, wildly inaccurate statements purely and personally abuse remarks purely to create disharmony and further their totally one eyed view. It has been said over and over again that most people dont object to hearing the negative points about Aus providing they are factual and not just hearsay and ridiculous stereotypes.

BTW...its not a crime to look forward to your new life....its also not a crime to state you ARE happy!!

Actually I get really fed up of the people who are totally anti UK. I do live in aus and like it very much, but I just can't believe these loonies who think that all their problems disappear if they add a few more hours of sun each year.

I post things which probably seem very anti aus - I just think sometimes a dose of reality may be in order.

Lets face it, in a recent poll, Australians were nominated the hardest working country in the world. In general terms , they work MORE HOURS !!

Thats less time for barbys , beaches and searchin for koalas !

Reality is it will be harder for poms, or any other nationality migrating to this country.

It isnt all blue skies, inxs music and shrimp sangas !

There's so much information to digest (restaurants, banks, shopping, housing, sports, tax, jobs, family ...... to name a few) just move on to a post that'll actually benefit you (or at least entertain you!).

give advice!!! sorry but this is really way off check all my threads I have downloaded and personally emailed about 100 bloody spreadsheets. Having bought a house in Aus I am constantly giving advice to people.

It's hard to tell if you are directing these comments to me personally but you start off in that vein. so I am assuming you are.

I think some of you have completely missed the point here. The point is not that negative posters should go away it's that they are so onesided not open to discussion - it's my opinion or none attitude. It's not a witch hunt it's a poll pure and simple to show the likes of Kong that some of us have been to Aus before.

The only point I can concede on is that I should have entitled the thread something else!
