After over a year of stress over the house sale etc, everything has now come together! House completes on the 27th May, shippers and flights are booked for the 2nd June. UK cars are sold and I bought one in Brisbane for us to collect on arrival. House is pretty clear and sold a load of stuff on eBay for surprising amounts of money, £300 up so far.
Even better, the exchange rate has improved - will wait for the governments announcements on Monday before exchanging cash, but on a 19K car that change makes a £500 difference to the bottom line.
Only fly in the ointment is disposing of the fridge freezer, it won't fit in the rental car and the charity people can't collect it for weeks...
Had a highly productive day yesterday, study, loft and clothes were sorted. Quieter one today packing one of the kids rooms. Being a project manager helps, prior planning gives me a couple of days off before we go!

We have just over 3 weeks to go, so know exactly how you feel. We have the shippers coming on 9th June and fly out on 11th. We sold loads of stuff on Ebay and made about £1000, but still have lots to do.

Exciting, we are too heading to the Gold Coast booking flights for 5th August. House completed last Friday, belongings are in store with removals company and they get shipped 28th June; it's all now becoming reality WOOHOO

Out of interest who are you flying with and have you managed to get additional baggage allowance?

OMG! This time next week we'll be getting ready to leave for the airport! Stuff selling well on Ebay, quite a few bits finishing tomorrow, sofa already gone, getting quite uncomfortable sitting on dining chairs whilst watching TV
but it'll all be worth it in the end. oh! still lots to do......
