Exhausting is an understatement! We have been here for 4 weeks now and its been non stop but the kids are finally in school now and we can see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel.

We (me, hubby and 4 boys 16,12,11 & 9) arrived in Yeronga (just outside Brisbane) on 12th Sept so know how you feel at the minute. I seemed to go into emotional shutdown over the final few days in the UK and just felt physically sick
. I think I was trying to be 'strong' for the boys, my mom, my sister, mother and sister in law... it was tough!! BUT it's ok once you get here.. get talking on Skype and organise regular catch ups and the distance doesn't seem so bad
.
We love it here (so far).. kids like their schools, hubby now working part time to fit round kids schools and my job is great - the lifestyle is relaxed and lovely. AND the bugs/snakes aren't bad at all (which was a 'biggie' for me).
Good luck on your journey xxx

Good luck with it all
We arrived a month ago to Melbourne after a 2 year haul. Definately well worth it, especially as we seem to have brought the rain with us
The goodbyes were hard but thank goodness for Skype.
We managed to get a short term apartment that had broadband in so contacted everybody imediately and that made a huge difference. They could see we were ok and our 4 year old was fascinated by it.
We just made sure that we kept moving with everything. Found a fab apartment to live in, sorted out kindergarten and benefits we were entitled to, changed our driving licences, got our tax file numbers registered online after being here two days which sped things up a lot.
We have had some time to do a few touristy bits but decided that we had the rest of our lives here so we would have time to do it all eventually.
The best bits were all the new furniture and electrical goods turning up to the new place on my 40th Birthday. Wife was in her element.
Anyway, hope some of this is helpful and good luck again to you and your family
