I have just bought a laptop to take with me to Australia, it has a internal modem, will it work over there, will the telephone cable i got fit over there, if not can i buy one that will fit a standard UK modem port.

It will work with a different cable.

In NZ the same cable would work.

it will work, a modem is a modem anywhere in the world, im not sure about the cable being compatible though, you may have to replace that, im sure someone will know.

I've got a Dell laptop and it works fine, so does the modem. I didn't need to change the telephone cable either, plugs straight in the Oz sockets.
