i doubt the government who did it will be able to count your future vote against them amongst all the others by the state of the current polls.

A vote is useless for perms and temps a like. Put pen to paper, write a letter to the immigration minister and outline specifics.
Anyhow ... had you been able to vote for the opposition, this tax break is gone anyway. The opposition oppose everything Labor does, except removing LAHFA
