Its not going to be an easy ride, nor was it an easy ride through the GFC but Labor got Australia through it with a world beating economic performance. They have earned the right to be considered good economic managers, look at their record over the last 3 years. You may not like pink batts or the Rudd knifing but dont confuse that with who is better at managing the economy, the country is safe in Labors hands.

No the important phrase is ....read the whole thread 
....you missed what we are talking bout I think....for an exercise abc is listing each party separately...ie including splitting the coalition into its constituent parties...I'm arguing a portion of the Qld lnp votes should be added to the nationals total rather than unfairly giving them all to the libs...specially given that in qld state elections nationals get far more seats than libs....even in brisbane. Libs get 2 seats or something

Libs get 2 seats or something I notice that ABC resists the urge to add LAB and GRN votes to give a comparitive coalition vote size. Statistics are open to distortion as ABC shows with nearly every post, his statistics are not incorrect per se but they are shall we say carefully chosen.

I said "ends up". Three years ago we had a surplus. Now we don't. Wait for it because the deficit is about to bite the workers arse with the current govt.
Don't you understand basic economics? If you borrow money it needs to be paid back, with interest. Who do you think is going to pay for it? The leprechauns down the bottom of your garden? Or is the government going to find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

Indeed - look at what Labour did in the UK when the going was good. Increased the debt, and encouraged easy borrowing for people - result=making the GFC much much worse than it needed to be for the UK.

More down to the people in the party at the time then the jersey colour these days....despite the old cliches. The current coalition team give all appearance of being economic lightweights. Bad enough that even ex national party independents have judged them so. If the coalition had a different leader and treasurer things may change.
