Kids birthday cakes, gold coast
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap but tasty birthday cake for my little boy's birthday? I am no good at making cakes so will definately want to buy a cake but haven't seen any in Woolworths?

Both Woolies and Coles do basic decorated birthday cakes but I'd suggest getting either a Cold Rock or Wendy's one. Cold Rock are fantastic, you have all the choice of the icecreams and mix ins so you get exactly what your boy likes. Wendy's are good (not as good as CR) but have a sponge base. Just like any other icecream you can keep it in the freezer for as long as you like (don't tend to last long though).
There is a shop at the Ferry Road market (The Brickworks) that is called SimplyCupcakes and you can have your choice of flavours and icings made up for as many cupcakes as you want - bit more interesting than a bog standard cake imo.

For cheap, cheerful and rather tasty too go for a Freddo Frog Party Cake. You'll find it in the Ice Cream section priced around $11
