Normally to get karma you have to earn it. I got someone in contact with my Dad for advice about where he lives and got some karma in the process. Also people can give you karma to cheer you up when you are down or have had bad news etc. The more reputation someone has the more meaningfull the karma they give. Remember to add your handle when giving karma so they know who it's from. Every little bit helps so here's some more.
