Do they sell those "Kangaroo Poo" t-shirts in Oz?

And I don't mean t-shirts made out of poo.

Nothing like a bit of Skippy, tastes a bit like Bambi (a bit milder though).

seriously though, the best is the fillet cooked slowly on the bbq, cook it too quick and it goes a bit tough. Nice marinated in herbs and red wine. I get it from woolies regularly (when they have it). I've bought a roast joint this week, I'm looking foward to cooking that this weekend. the sausages are nice too. Makes a nice change from steak or lamb.

Nice site....particularly the bit about wearing the 'roos nuts as a necklace afterwards!

It's good that they are proactively preserving their culture and passing on their beliefs and traditions to the little 'uns.

hmmm, and here I was always telling people here they don't usually actually eat roo in Oz...
I guess times have changed. When we lived in Oz in 8 years ago, it wasn't normal (not in WA). I guess now more people have gotten over the 'cute kanga's' stage. Kangaroo's are also now seen more as a pest in some areas, right?

While living in an aboriginal town, my dad had roo once. But it was early morning, so he didn't really enjoy it!! :D I think he has lizard once too.
Up there I had turtle once. Was like chicken, and I like chicken!(I was 9 then)
Up there we also went fishing and caught heaps of salmon and little sharks.

On school camp once we went to an emu farm in Kalgoorlie. I was 12 at the time, and an animal lover, so didn't want to try the emu sausages. They smelt funny too. Can't remember if I ended up eating it.

I think now I would eat roo....
But I'm not really a meat fan, though I do like chicken.

If you live near Rochester in Kent, there is a pub in Higham that serves Kangaroo steaks (at least it did a few years ago).

I drank a few gallons of beer in that pub many moons ago :D

Mandy has it spot on - it does taste very similar to venison. Which is another meat I dont like, just sheer coincidence that it also has a cute face ;) .

tryed it, don't rate it. Its more the texture, it kinda feels like stewing steak:confused:

The dogs love it, raw:)
