This is excellent thank you folks

I think i may be worrying for nothing - self packing so container arrives outside the house and we pack so that may be a disadvantage but..

3 seater sofa
2 seater sofa
1 wardrobe
2 chests
1 coffee table
1 dining table
1 dishwasher
1 washing machine
3 tv's (1 of which is portable)
1 trampoline - dismantled!
1 divan dbl
1 pine bed king dismantled
3 pc desks
1 dressing table and stool
6 of those plastic 3 drawer stackers on wheels - still filled with kids toys!
3 x toolboxes
3 x road bikes
and about 80-90 boxes of other stuff.

PSS and they were very good. The boys who packed were excellent and this is where the probs happen, which team does the packing. Also our container was sealed at our house.

Cant remeber how much now though.

Interesting........White's have quoted us for sole use of a 40-footer on the basis of 1300 cubic feet. The link to the container site says that a 20-footer has 1150 cu feet and 40-footer is almost 2400 cu feet...........Why would Whites do that??? Suggest that we have over 1000 cu feet spare.

I really can't believe that they didn't suggest leaving a few things or say that it might be a squeeze but to go for the 20-footer.......I'll see what comes back this week when the others have been, and may even go back to Whites to get quoted for a 20-footer..........

ok....ok....I know what you're saying, but so close to the limit for the 20-footer I would expect them to mention it.....but they'd expect to make a few quid I suppose...

But I take your point!

If you have to take the other 200 cubic feet, get them to give you a quote for the 200 to be sent in a consolidated container at their discretion, ie, when the container is full.
So your first container is full of your essentialls, and you get the 200cuft of none essentialls at a later date........................... mm
