I can't believe John Peel is dead. He's a legend.

My school pals and I used to listen to him religiously during the punk days and the years after.

First Joe Strummer, now John Peel yet Jimmy Saville and Jonathan King are still alive.

RIP John.

Sorry, must disagree about R4 Home Truths. I ran to the radio to turn it off at 9am every Sat when he came on. I thought it a terrible programme; couldn't bear it and it saddened me to see Peelie sell out in this way after his illustrious earlier career. I hope the BBC lets Home Truths die with John.

Blimey! Can't believe it. He was a big part of my (and many others no doubt) growing up. Also enjoyed the wry humor of his 'Home Truths' on Radio 4 in recent years.

How sad. Poor Sheila & offspring, too....
