We are just starting the visa process and would like to move to the Byron Bay area. My wife is a Nurse so hoping it will be fairly easy for her to find work. However, does anybody know of any design/manufacturing companies in the surrounding area? I am struggling to find anything that even comes close. We would be very grateful for any advice.

Byron is probably 99% tourist industry, not much else. As for the nursing, Byron Bay Hospital is tiny - cottage hospital sized, not sure how much staff turnover they get. You would possibly be better off looking at Tweed/Coolie to the North or Ballina/Lismore to the south. Property would be cheaper in those areas as well.

Yep, like Moneypenny said, Byron Hospital is quite small. All the little towns like Byron, Ballina etc all have their own little country hospitals but probably dont have a great staff turnover. Lismore Base Hopsital, about 40-50 minutes from Byron is probably more likely to have employment opportunities or heading north, the Gold Coast/Brisbane would be more suited to that line of employment.
