Thanks for all the replies, very helpful. Jen unlocking the iphone is not proving to be easy, it was my first thought but am finding near on impossible, if u find out anything let me know.

Let's hope I don't get my visa soon then as that iphone cost the other half more than £350, oopsies lol

There's generally a bloke who can unlock phones at markets. My old Sony couldn't be but most of the time they can Used to cost about 10 quid.

Ive got the standard iphone (not 3g) 8gb, got it unlocked for £40 at mobile phone shop and has happily worked on orange for 17 months.

i even joined a real geek forum to ask their advice on unlocking, but apparently as my iphone is running 2.2.1 software it's not impossible but it ain't easy.

I too got a iphone but think they are hard to unlock(jail break) or unreliable once done.

I love my iphone and love going on the internet while on the move but looks like it will cost more then the £35 all inclusive here in the uk

Might aswell sell uk iphone
