Off to a ball soon and just wanting to check what is actually worn.....is it really big floaty ball gowns, cocktail dresses ....any ideas ???? Does everyone wear dresses ??
Are ladies really OTT or not...

Don't know what it's like in Perth but in Brisbane you will probably find a broader spectrum of attire than in UK i.e. some will go all out and others will be more casual, maybe wearing smart trousers and a sparkly top or something. Most fall in the middle somewhere i.e. a cocktail gown but not the full ball gown number. A black dress is always a winner!

Do you know anyone who has been to a similar ball previously? Can you ask them? Or even ring up the organisers and ask them.
