If You're Happy and You Know It......Or Maybe Not
It's now only 5 weeks (1 August) until we arrive in Oz. It would be useful to know, from those in the know living there, the very best aspect and the very worst aspect about life in Australia. This isn't an excuse for a rant one way or the other. Just simple observations would be welcomed and may be of use to others.

BEST - everything is as good or better than we hoped (landed 26.08.03)
WORST - cost of housing and being at best a day away from family and friends if the need to get back to the UK for an emergency ever occurs.

For me its seeing the ocean everyday. Even when its gloomy I still love seeing the water. Having my husband home from work every night at a reasonable hour after a 40 min commute rather than 2 hours slog from London. Eating together as a family EVERY day rather than just weekends. The slower pace of life is good for me, not for everyone.
the downsides, can't think of many. I miss clothes from England for my kids and I wish you could buy more over the internet, online shopping hasn't really reached Oz yet. But for me they are extremely minor inconveniences rather than deal breakers.
