I really need help!!!!
I would really appreciate anyones advice on this.
I am British my boyf from NZ. He has spent his whole life living around the world. We have spent the last 2 in Oz for 9 months and Malaysia 6 months.
He needs to be based in Melbourne for work.
We would like to apply for the de facto partner Visa for Oz but have the following problems.
1. He is not a permanent resident. He was not in in Oz on the 26 Feb 01. How do we get around this. He has only been in Austalia for 11 months over the past 2 years. He was a student in London until Sept 01. Does this count for anything.
2. We want to apply from within Australia, is this a good idea?
3. If he has a SCV does this allow him to sponsor me as his de facto partner? As opposed to PR.
4. Should we be granted a Visa for myself, what is the lengh of the Visa, and can I work full time on it. I do not want PR just a few years.
I have plenty of proof that we were, are and will remain a couple.
