I do, or I don't?

I do, or I don't?
Does anyone here know of any good reason to get married, either for the Visa or just general life in Oz? We have been together for 9 years and all is just fine without the marriage, which neither of us particulary want.
Thanks
Thanks

In Australia you will qualify as 'de facto' any way, which works for visas etc.
Do whatever makes you happy!

as the saying goes if it aint broken don't fix it,
friends of ours are going to oz on a de facto visa, has been only a little more hassle than a normal one!
good luck with whatever you choose to do, and think of the expense of a wedding, it certainly isnt the cheaper option (speaking from experience)!

Er... I'm confused about the AA membership!?
Good point about knowing where you stand legally though - one of the things on my to-do list for the next few months is to get a proper will drawn up and make sure OH has as well - I don't want him or me to end up homeless and penniless if the worst happened to either of us. I like to think both our families would be reasonable and cooperate with each other, but there's nothing like a death in the family to bring out the worst in people.
Not sure any of that is a good enough reason to get married though - just make sure all the paperwork is in place so that no one gets upset or ripped off.
