beaumaris!
Hi again, I posted a thread ages ago about Beaumaris, and now we are 6 weeks away from departure (whooppee!!!).
the next question is :-
Where are the best Markets close to Beaumaris??
my hubbie visited last year and went to the Prahan Market for his fruit & vege (which was lovely) - is there anything like that nearer?
or how long would it take to get to Prahan?
Part of living the dream is to get our groceries from a market instead of the tesco empire which is in the UK.
also got a place for our boy in Beaumaris Primary for next year -
Just need a job now!!
Thanks for any advice,
best wishes

Hi,
There is a pretty good fruit shop in Beaumaris - Top Shelf Fruits. Much better quality than IGA or Coles etc. There are also Farmers Markets that appear from time to time, usually well advertised in advance. Prahan is about 25 mins drive. There are also a heap of markets down in the Mornington Peninsula - Red Hill Market is excellent.
What year is your son starting in ? My daughter, six years old and in Year 1, is at Beaumaris Primary. It's a fabulous school.
Good luck with the move. If you need any help or advice feel free to PM us.
Cheers,
Col

Re: beaumaris!
Dandenong Market I would guess is quicker to get to than Prahran Market. Melbourne's best and largest market is the Queen Victoria Market but it is just on the northern edge of the CBD however, well worth the effort to go to some time. As also mentioned there are stacks of Farmers Markets.
