husbands nz visit and ? schools
Does anyone know if schools in NZ have the equivilant of the OFSTED reports? How do we get hold of them if they do?
My husband went to NZ for a 10 day visit last week. Weather on the whole was sunny and around 16 degrees. Rained a couple of days, but more like drizzle. He was walking round in t shirts and the locals were in scarves and hats. Liked Auckland very much and went to the bay of plenty for a couple of interviews. He was a little disappointed with Tauranga-quite like a large industrial site with houses in between and a very large rail road.Beaches were lovely though.Only his opinion!
He stayed at the STAMFORD PLAZA on the sunday night for $99. Check out whatif.com for sunday night specials. Loved the luxury after a long flight-Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, Akl.
Then stayed at the Novotel-clean and very friendly. In fact he found every one extremely friendly and willing to give advice on anything. Checked out property-expensive!! In bay of plenty region, people are selling their back gardens as sections for others to build on. This area is increasing in size big style and houses are getting very expensive for smaller property and gardens.
The 'Where to live in Akl' book at the National Bank is only free if you make an appt with a mortgage advisor. Great if you have time.
If you have any specific q's please pm.

They have an Education Review Board which from what I can see does the same as OFSTED. Try this site - you can search for individual schools and find the most recent ERO for that school.
