How to pay bills when you're away?

How to pay bills when you're away?
Am going overseas for 6 weeks and will returning in the last week of Jan. Won't be here to check my utility bills. So am wondering how does one arrange to make payments? Phone and Internet is fine - have a direct debit. Am more concerned with water, gas and electricity. I don't want to get socked with any fines. Thanks.

Yeah either BPay or just enable the Direct deposit service....
