Not having a very portable skill I'd want enough cash to keep me going for a year, should be able to get some kind of job in that time. Queensland Government were offering the equivalent of redundancy packages recently so I worked it out - $80,000 after tax and I'd have gone. Unfortunately their offer wasn't that big

I am home.
You can give me loads of money anyway though?

I can walk home from the centre of Sydney in about 45 minutes. Wouldn't do it at night, as I'd have to walk through Redfern, but I could. (The nearest pub is actually downstairs, in the same building as our apartment.)
Money wouldn't get me back to the UK (which is not "home" and has not been since 2002) but family circumstances may well get me back there one day - which I've always known - although I'd be off back to wherever home currently was as soon as I could.

I'm home. My last home stopped being home when I got on the plane over here. It took a car to get me home this afternoon though, if that helps.

200,000 will do me nicely still have the UK house and buying here looks like a mugs game, with my kids in the UK it wouldn't take a lot to persuade me!

I had no idea that Qantas were charging so much these days.

The yacht is my home but I'll sell it to you or anyone for $275,000 and then sod off home to buy another.

I'd go for the cost of the airfare, to see my dad before he dies, as long as I could come back. If I had to leave permanently, then I'd want at least $5 million. Most of that would be eaten up in care home fees.

$664,361.27 or enough to buy a an apartment in Spain to live in (27p) and to buy an OK gaff in the UK .

I'd go for nothing. However I suspect you wouldnt be able to offer my DH enough for him to want to move. I'd almost be prepared to pay for the privilege to leave, never to return!

$275,000 seems cheap for an abode to live permanently on?
