how much tax would I pay on 400 quid a week ?
Can someone give me some idea on how much my take home pay would be on 400 pounds a week gross ?

400 * 52 = 20800 annual
Take off your tax allowance, (what's that, about 2500 or so these days?) then the first chunk is at 20% tax, after that you're on 25% tax, if memory serves.
For a ballpark figure, take 78% of the amount, and you won't be far off. A bit over 300 squids a week takehome.

Around 90 -100 GBP Tax per week looks about right, course you should get probably most if not all back if only working for a few months

That is true. Do you have your tax code on a previous P45? If not try and get a new code off the tax office ASAP so you pay as little up front as possible.
