It may be worth your while getting bedding for the crate that's water proof on one side to stop the spillage soaking up into the pet's bed. My animals had damp patches where the water had spilt.
This is called Vet Bed, get it early so your pet has a chance to get all your house smells on it.
Shipping company reccommended we get this for our pets comfort.
Got mine from e-bay.
