They call such people " Ping Pong Poms" or "Boomerang Poms", Poms that immigrate to OZ and soon return to the UK after a short period of time and then regret their decision and go back to OZ. Thats why if you go to all the trouble and expense of immigrating to OZ you should give it atleast 2 years and/ or try a different part of OZ before going back to the Uk.

Yes there are people in all sorts of stages on the UK forum, including those who cant make up their mind.
Posters from several countries in all stages of immigration or return go there rarely with a cross word.Some of the thougths and observations of people are very honest and thought provoking tho, especially some of the posts on how it feels to leave family. That seems to threaten some posters from the australian forum and 3/4 trolls have got in there recently
getting one thread closed. Normally tho its a very calm place of discussion no matter what stage your at.

No mistakes are made only lessons learned,
and if you go back to the UK and enjoy your life more, the trip has been a worthwile exercise and experience, as you now recognise how good the UK really is.
Someone quoted somewhere that her husband sees the UK as a better place, to me , thats a good eye opener.

But I do know the feelings relating to viewing the UK after being away a few years. The memories I had kept of the UK, were not, in general, the reality as I found it.

Do what ever you have to and for your OWN family. :

We went to Oz in November 2004 (Gold Coast) and returned to the UK in January 2005!!!! We were there just 9 weeks. It sounds daft when you try to explain to people why you came back but to us those 9 weeks felt like 9 months at the time. We look back now and think that we were just physically and emotionally totally drained with it all and going back home was the simple choice . IT WAS NOT. We didn't want to come home, we knew it was silly, but we felt at the time that we had no other choice. We regretted it even before we had bought the return flight tickets!!! We felt that we weren't getting anywhere and had four kids in tow. Stress levels were high and arguments were a daily routine LOL. What really hit home that we had made a big mistake was actualy getting back home. Within a month of returning we were planning emigration attempt two!!! Family were all sad to see us go the first time and said how much they will miss us. One brother said that he wished he had spent more time with us in the many years previous. We had a very tearful goodbye when we went. After we got back everything slipped back into the old routine. We are not seeing anymore of family now than before we emigrated. So it is like someone has already said - everyone has their own lives to live and will continue doing so whether you are there or not. I say go back as soon as you can and give it another go. We know more now than ever that we want to live in Oz. We WILL NOT return next time unless it is for a holiday LOL. Return flights booked for July 16th. 20 weeks to go and counting. Family all ok with it and not surprised! Friends not surprised either and say go for it!!! Good luck Libby. As my moniker says "Don't dream your life.... Live your Dream".
