I can't wait to go and feel really excited, yet there are odd moments when I feel sad for the people we are leaving behind.
I just want to get organised and settled. My husband would go tomorrow but I am a bit more practical. It is getting very real now and my tummy keeps turning over every now and then.
It is nice to know that I am normal after all and we are all going through the same emotions.

I was so excited the day the yellow envelope arrived - after 24 months of waiting it was over! But now, only a couple of months left until departure date I feel very sad. Mostly because I am leaving my friends and family, and especially because of the emotional blackmail from the grandparents! I am dreading departure day - hubby's parents are taking us to the airport!!!!:scared: It's going to be horrible. I am sure that I will feel happy when we finally get there but at the moment I feel like 30th June is a black day on my calendar.

can't yopu make alternative arrangements, where the in-laws don't take you and a taxi does?
I am avoiding all that s**t, at ALL costs.

Believe me I would dearly love to if possible! Trouble is that they live 20 mins from Manchester airport, and have already planned to take the day off work. MIL has already told me many times about how much she is going to bawl her eyes out:scared:
We'll have to see - maybe it would be easier on all of us if we suggested getting a cab?

Hello!
After waiting a while, all the hopes and dreams, the planning and the plotting, the house doctoring and the shelling out of thousands of pounds, we have got our visas.
Am genuine in the fact that we can't wait to go......the visa process has been a stressful one...but we can't wait to get over there and 'dig in ' and get the real work started.
HOWEVER....( there had to be something, didn't there...! ), although I am MEGA positive for the majority of the time...and also I am SO busy with organising this and sorting that....I do get times when my stomach turns over and I think:
" Oh my god - we DID it, we got our visas!!! Yayyyyyyy!!!!! ",
but there are also times when I get a MAJOR stomach churning feeling. No mind thoughts in particular, I suppose its just nerves....
What have you all been feeling and AM I NORMAL?????

I know this is the best decision I have made but still get the big tummy churn now and again.
Fella is champing at the bit to get back home and see all his friends and rellies, I am too but just a little nervous that I won't have my usual 'friends/family' network around me :scared:
It will be fine though me thinks and generally look forward to it.
See you in Cairns

I'm starting to worry that I'm not getting worried. I keep getting people tell me "I must be nervous" etc.....but really I'm not.
In fact I'm a bit bored really. I just want to get on with it.

Hiya rach,
we're not having one big 'send off', rather a couple of small 'dos', close friends, meal out with family, that sort of thing, the idea of having to plan and execute a big 'do' would just about finish me off I think!!!!
