Default How can I take a PC?

Is there a safe way to take a PC (tower case) with me on the flight.
It may be too big for hand luggage and I'm afraid to put it
in the hold. Is there a way of packaging this or making it safe?
I can't wait the 8-10 weeks for it to arrive with the rest of my stuff.
Thanks

Pad it nicely inside a suitcase & check it in!

Hi, thanks for your reply. I wouldn't trust it in a suitcase, however well-padded it may be. Have you seen the way those cases get thrown around?
I've even had aftershave bottles broken in suitcases, despite being wrapped in towels. Cases are often at the bottom of a pile with tons of weight from other cases on top. This wouldn't bode well for sensitive electronic equipment.

Thanks. My query is about a PC. I do have a laptop and I will be taking it as hand luggage. There are 4 of us migrating, in 13 days (wow!) and, although I will be shipping lots of stuff, I must take a PC with me somehow.

Just an idea - have you thought of disassembling the tower? Spread the electronic components amongst the hand luggage, and check in the empty tower, possibly filled with clothes or books. Put it back together the other end.

What a very clever idea! Thanks for that. I will have a peep inside and see how difficult or easy that would be, but it certainly sounds to be a goer.
Thanks.
