Lots of good points on here!!

This happened to us few years ago, they were 5 grand short on what we wanted, we went back onto the market and 2 days later they were back offering the additional 5 grand we wanted, they had borrowed the money off one of their parents!! House sale went through in 8 weeks, job done!!!

So like someone said before me I know what i am like if i want it i GOTTA have it!!!

It is a hard one to call but as my husbands nan who is 98 years old always says "Whats for you wont go by you" and I think never a truer word spoken from a very wise very old lady!! Bless her!!

Just do a loan agreement or something like that for the 5k diference,

OR, just let them have the house at the cheaper price,

if you think, on a house like that, you'd be paying around 1k a month on a mortgage anyway

if they dont buy, and you face another 5 months of waiting, then you're 5k down anyway, and, chances are, the next person would mess you around,

take it I would, but ask about the extra 5k anyway, ask them nice like and tell them that they could pay you xxx a month for xxx months to make up the difference if they buy, and get it officialised by the solicitor

hmmmmm

personally my alarm bells are ringing - IF you accept the 5k lower, then you really need to find a way that they dont welch on the agreement - my parents had something similar happen to them - the day before they exchanged contracts the buyer dropped by another 10k!

I can't believe people are so obsessed with house prices they would hold out for 5k. All things being equal, I would take the money and get on the plane. 2006 is not 2002-2004.
