Thursday
Fine and mostly sunny this morning but some afternoon cloud developing with the risk of a late thunderstorm. Fresh northerly winds.

Forecast Max: 38 C
Wind Direction & Speed: SW at 4 knots
Humidity: 50%
Pressure: 1008.6 hPa
Warning: CFA has declared a day of Total Fire Ban for all of Victoria for Thursday 26 January 2006. Fire Weather Warning: Fire danger will be extreme in the Mallee, Wimmera, Western and Central districts tomorrow.

We had 5 major fires during last fire ban on Sunday, devastating large areas......be careful out there !!

We've had so many bush fires around here its not funny, on Monday, we never saw the sky the whole day, there was just grey smoke everywhere, i (stupidly) hung a washing out, and god it stank when i brought it in !!!!!!

Yehp tis a tad 1983ish today, Although we had 5 days of 40+ in a row when hell happened that year.


Melbourne was almost surrounded by fire that day.

Have never been able to work out the weather in Melbourne.

I remember it well.. Not a good time in Melbourne, hope all goes well this time...I remember waking up to go to nightshift in Fitzroy and my car was covered in ash..The worst thing about the ash Wednesday fires was the poor buggers that jumped into their rainwater tanks (galvanised) to escape the flames and they died in there...Horrendous because they were found days after the fires had been put out.
