Here's the thing......

The good folk buying our house were supposed to sign the contract last Wednesday. No problem....they did that but didn't take the deposit as the solicitor didn't ask them for one?! The at 5:30pm on Thursday after 5 weeks of everything going smoothly they decided they want a gas safety certificate. No problem.....we had a plumber come round on Friday, paid out £70 and got the certificate. They were supposed to take the deposit to the solicitor today but Mrs walked into a lamp post (needing stitches in her head) and so couldn't deliver the cheque. Then.....the latest in this saga is they want to exchange contracts and complete the purchase on the same day (ie 15 Dec).

We've never sold a house before so admittedly we don't know much.....but surely this can't be right!? Our shippers are coming on 11 Dec which we just booked this morning thinking the exchange was going to happen today or tomorrow at the latest. Need the house money to pay the shippers (or at least Mastercard....)

Who thinks the wife and I are stressing for nothing and who thinks the buyers are taking the Michael and that we should start stamping our feet a bit?
