Know how you feel although has been a long while since oh was away but he went to sea so I often had three months or six months on my own.
I suggest two puppies, why because we worked and found that having two dogs they had company and we never had a problem with them.
Can be some surprises though I had long haired dachshunds as they do not need much exercise and got home one day to find they had a nice time pulling the curtains and had ripped the bottom off the curtains

HAHA NOT GOOD! One thing I can say about the wee dog I'd to leave behind in NI, she was never destructive...miss her soooooo much. But yes, I agree, two dogs would be ideal, unfortunately the OH would want at least one of them to be a boxer, and when he's away it might be a nightmare to walk two dogs if one of them was a boxer lol
Will discuss it with him once he's had a few beers later lol

To be honest, I'd go back tomorrow! Living here is just not as I expected it to be. I really miss my family. I find it so much more expensive for things. We lost a fair bit of money on our house sale and the exchange rate. We have been priced out of the housing market here. On the other hand my husband loves it! LOL

You will not be lonely long if you get the dogs, people love chat when out for a walk with dogs, good idea for single people
