Holiday Accommodation - Near to Brisbane Airport
Hi
Have just booked flights for our Validation Trip to Brisbane in March.
We are arriving early hours in the morning 26th March. We plan to spend a couple of nights in Brisbane before heading up to Central Qld. Any ideas on somewhere to stay - not too far from airport and easy to find (we are planning to arrange car hire from Airport), that we would be able to book into early hours of the morning.
We are a family of 4 (2 children - ages 9 and 11).
Any suggestions are appreciated
Thanks

Don't forget you pay a premium for hiring a car from the airport as opposed to getting one from another location. May pay you to get a cab from the airport to the accommodation and then sorting a hire car when you wake up.

ETA: No seriously if you're staying in a hotel nearby then dont hire a car to go to the hotel and sleep. Catch a cab and then depending on where exactly you are - consider a bus/train/citycat into the city for a wander around on day 1 - leave your driving until day 2 when you're more 'with it'.

Thanks everyone for that advice. Will certainly take that all on board. Thats definately why it is worthwhile asking these type of questions...
Thanks ABC for that list of hotels. Will have a look at them all.

Re: Holiday Accommodation - Near to Brisbane Airport
Actually rather than stay near the airport I'd be tempted to look for some last minute accomodation more central, it'll be much nicer and might not actually cost much more:
http://www.wotif.com
Is the best place to look - but best deals tend to be available less than week before your stay. I'd be looking for a decent price for somewhere in SouthBank, CBD or Spring Hill (all easy strolls around city)
Its a bit early looking for March at the moment - but I reckon $115 a night a room at Gabba Central would be pretty good - easy (and NICE) walk through South bank to the city, or a gazillion buses if you're tired...

Try 'Sadler's Homestay' you will get their website from google. We stayed at their place a few times, it was great and central for getting about, 15 minutes from the airport, about the same to Brisbane CBD, very clean and tidy and has a swimming pool!

Thanks for those replys
The reason I had mentioned staying close to airport was due to the time we arrive in to Brisbane and also because we were planning to hire a car at airport - so didn't want to have to drive miles to get to accommodation. However after having a think about what a few of you mentioned earlier I think we will take the advice and just get a taxi and hire a car after a day or so when we are ready to head north.
I will certainly look at the listed recommendations.
Thanks again.
