OK had the car couple of days.

Everything fine so far. Nice to drive and reasonably equipped for a base model (Forester X).

I was a bit concerned after reading some reports about fuel consumption....However, I drove back from the Gold coast this afternoon and returned 40 mpg (in old money) so can't complain especially as it is a new car and will take a few miles before the engine performs properly.

Looking good so far

I have a Forester (XT) and it is lovely to drive, I really like it.

Doesn't use as much fuel as the bigger SUVs, but still big enough to be comfy on a long drive.

Don't think I could trust myself with an XT these days.

Those things are scarily fast

I, personally, would recommend a Ford Territory. I have one and it's brill. Wish I'd got it when I first arrived instead of the poxy Ford Focus I had. We've done loads of miles in it and I love it.

Yes the XT is up there with a WRX but still practical enough to go to Bunnings - but you do have to be careful to keep it reined in - it does want to go hard...
